Pepper Logging strives to give their customers fast service, Skidquality products and excellent value. Pepper Logging prides itself on having a fine reputation of honesty and hard work. Customers never have to worry when Pepper Logging is doing a job.

Pepper Logging is a fully–insured, family owned and operated business that serves customers in Northern PA and Southern NY. For Rob and Josh Pepper, logging has been a way of life. Rob started logging in 1986 and Josh joined him in 1993 with another logging company. In 1999, Rob and Josh decided to venture out on their own and Pepper Logging became incorporated.

Even before their partnering in 1999, Rob and Josh have been experts in the woods. Rob and Josh have worked together to mark and evaluate trees for landowners to give them the fairest price and highest return on their timber possible. Pepper Logging prides themselves on being honest and putting the landowner first. Once Rob and Josh are on a site, they do a neat and precise job of select cutting the timber. Rob is a meticulous logger with exact precision and skill. Josh is a master of the skidder and equipment. In 2011, Rob’s son, Hunter, was added as a partner in the business and is becoming a skilled logger in his own right. There should never be a doubt that the job will be done right when Pepper Logging harvests timber.

In 2004, the guys broadened their skills from just logging to making lumber, moulding, wood flooring and wood siding. That year they added a workshop, storage facility and dry–kiln to the existing barn. Now they had the capability to take their own logs, saw them into boards (with the help of P&W lumber), dry them and make a finished product for sale to customers at rates lower than most home improvement stores. Pepper Logging again values their customers by giving them a quality product at a fair price.

In 2008, when the lumber and construction market began to decline, Josh and Rob made the decision to invest in a log debarker and log shaving mill to make wood shavings for animal bedding. Josh is now the supervisor of this operation. These additions have been a blessing to local farmers who were not able to get sawdust for bedding. This expansion and diversity has allowed Pepper Logging to continue to grow and prosper while many other logging companies were unfortunately forced to close in 2009.

Pepper Logging, with the help of the log truck driver Steve, has always offered whole, hardwood polewood to customers that they could cut for firewood. But, not everyone has the means or desire to do it themselves. So, in 2008 they also made room at the mill to stock more cut and split firewood for consumers who wanted to supplement their main heating with wood. Customers can pick up wood or can have it delivered.

Pepper Logging truly appreciates all their customers and wants to continue to grow and provide quality products and services for many years to come. If Rob or Josh can be of service to you, please contact us.
